Dining on the Kentucky Bed and Breakfast Farm
Let’s face it…we’re in this for the food! Our eco-friendly farm stay carries its spirit into the kitchen as we strive to serve you delicious seasonal meals made from as many local, natural, and organic ingredients as we can. Our Full Country Breakfast changes daily based on the innkeeper’s choice starting usually with fresh fruit in season (some hand-picked right here!), continuing with a home-cooked delight such as:
• our farm fresh pastured-poultry eggs made in a variety of ways and/or
• blueberry or chocolate chip pancakes
• biscuits and gravy
• eggs benedict
• French toast or “Dutch Babies”
• baked oatmeal
We wouldn’t want to send you out into all that clean country air on an empty stomach so just know there’ll surely be extras like bacon, sausage, toast, baked goods or home fries, and often accompanied by local-made Amish jellies or our own homemade relishes. And there’s always coffee, tea, juice, and milk.
The Country Girl Bed and Breakfast Dining Room Table is set family style with smaller table options available for a more intimate meal. Breakfast is served between 8am-9:30am scheduled with you the night before based on your plans for the following day. Business travelers or those requiring an earlier seating need only make a request upon check-in and our best arrangements will be made. Special dietary needs for you and your party should be mentioned at time of reservation so we have time to prepare.
Eating in the Area
After breakfast from our own country kitchen, we can recommend a variety of restaurants and eateries in the area that will happily serve you lunch and dinner. Or you may want to look through our binder of local menus yourself. Whatever your taste-buds desire and your schedule allows, you’ll find options just down the road or en route on your outings -- from Classic Southern Buffets to Bar-B-Q, Deli Sandwiches to Sweets, Pizza to Mexican, or Fine Dining to Fast Food. On special occasions, we may be serving lunch or dinner here on the farm which would be open to B&B guests for an additional charge.
